Residential Retreats

We run residential retreats throughout the year in Caithness on the award winning tourist route, the North Coast 500. Our residential retreats are based at the gorgeous Forse of Nature. Each retreat is themed and all include life coaching, yoga, mindfulness, nature walks, mindful crafts, delicious locally sourced food and lots of tea and cake. Special dietary requirements catered for by request.

Rooms are shared with a very limited number of singles. 

During the retreats you will also have full use of the grounds, two private lounges and a yoga / meditation room. An on-site craft shop stocks wonderful things produced by local crafters.

Although our retreats are in ‘the land beyond the Highlands’, it is very accessible either by driving the stunning NC500, flying into Inverness or Wick and by bus or train. Wick is only a 20 min taxi ride away and the bus will drop you at the end of the drive which is a lovely walk to the venue.

Spaces are very limited and early booking is essential.

Deposits are not refundable and full cost of retreat must be paid in full at least six weeks prior.  If you choose one of our payment plans, the first payment is considered your deposit. If you are unable to attend, you are very welcome to transfer your space to someone else or if we are able to fill the space, we will offer a refund minus a £50 administration fee. Unfortunately due to the time and costs involved in organising the retreats, we have had no choice but to introduce this policy. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Mother & Daughter Mini Retreat

7th – 8th March 2020 (1 night)

Would you like to spend some quality time together? This retreat is the perfect opportunity. Daughters over the age of twelve are very welcome.

You’ll arrive for 10am Saturday morning and will spend the day enjoying restorative yoga, woodland walks, nature crafts and cuddles with Frank the Therapy Pug. There will be free time to chill in front of the log fires with hot chocolate and cake and you can enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner before stories round the fire and a yoga nidra before bed.

After morning meditation and a yoga session, Sunday morning we will have a mother & daughter reflexology workshop and some free time to journal, relax by the fire, explore the nearby Pictish ruins or go seaglass hunting. We’ll make sure you are well fed before we say Goodbye after lunch.

Rewild Your Inner Child Retreat

16th – 20th July 2020 (4 nights)

Are you tired of life feeling so serious all the time?

Have you forgotten how to play?

Would you love some time to just ‘be’?

Join us for our Rewild Your Inner Child Retreat – reconnect with your inner child and remember how wonderful it is to make time for fun, play and being yourself.

You’ll arrive late Friday afternoon in time to settle in and get to know everyone. We have a relaxed first evening of delicious food, followed by stories round the fire pit, bedtime meditation and an early night.

Every morning of your retreat will begin with a story style meditation and playful yoga. We have different activities planned for the week including nature walks, seaglass hunting on the beach, picnic lunches, wild swimming, wild crafting, baking, rock mandalas, fairy hunts and loads more.

After a delicious dinner each night, we’ll have stories round the fire, free time and a deep sleep meditation session.

Your final day will start with morning meditation and yoga and you will then have some free time to go walking, spend time with your new friends, play in the gardens or just relax. We’ll make sure you’re well fed before we say our goodbyes after lunch.

There will be an opportunity to book a one to one session with Donna

All activities are included but optional and if your inner child needs to nap late and cuddle up with a good book then we are delighted to support that and to provide plenty of milk and cookies 🙂

Loved it all 🥰 Food great, great hospitality, great camaraderie, room-mates perfect and the walk to the neolithic village was bracing but mindful. When’s the next one?!

Coorie Retreat

30th October – 1st November 2020 (2 nights)

Join us for our cosiest retreat of the year. Coorie is a Scottish word that means to cuddle up and be cosy and we’re all about log fires, tea and cakes, wintery woodland walks and time to coorie up with a good book or some knitting.

You’ll arrive late Friday afternoon in time to settle in and get to know everyone. We have a relaxed first evening of delicious food, followed by stories round the fire and a bedtime yoga nidra.

We’ll start Saturday with a morning meditation followed by breakfast and some restorative, gently yoga. After yoga we’ll get out and about in the gorgeous grounds for a bit of exploring and then back for a warm up and delicious lunch. The afternoon will be free time and some mindful crafting and of course plenty of tea and cake. Dinner is followed by some relaxation time and another bedtime yoga nidra. Our northerly location, low light pollution and infinite skies are perfect for star gazing and in this retreat there is a good chance of spotting the Northern Lights.

Your final day will start with morning meditation and yoga and you will then have some free time to go walking, spend time relaxing or have a tour of the house. We’ll make sure you’re well fed before we say our Goodbyes after lunch.

There will be an opportunity for a short one to one session with Donna.

What an amazing time. Never been so relaxed and re-energised. Such a great atmosphere. Well organised and thought out. Donna is brilliant. Perfect location with great hosts and fantastic food.

Winter Fire Retreat

 8th – 10th January 2021 (2 nights)

Join us for our most popular retreat and start 2021 in style.

You’ll arrive late Friday afternoon in time to settle in and get to know everyone. We have a relaxed first evening of delicious food, followed by stories round the fire and a bedtime yoga nidra.

We’ll start Saturday with a morning meditation followed by breakfast and some restorative yoga. After yoga we’ll get out and about in the gorgeous grounds for a bit of exploring and then back for a warm up and delicious lunch. The afternoon will be spent releasing 2020 and visioning your most AMAZING 2021 and of course plenty of tea and cake. Dinner is followed by our legendary fire ceremony and a cosy bedtime yoga nidra.

Our northerly location, low light pollution and infinite skies are perfect for star gazing and in this retreat there is a good chance of spotting the Northern Lights.

Your final day will start with morning meditation and yoga and you will then have some free time to go walking, spend time relaxing or have a tour of the house. We’ll make sure you’re well fed before we say our Goodbyes after lunch.

Day Retreat

Our Day Retreat is a day of bliss –  a full day of meditation (seated, eating, working), yoga, nature walks, mindfulness and yoga nidra. The whole day takes place in silence so no need to introduce yourself, share your story or feel any obligation to entertain your fellow attendees.

Attendees should bring something for working meditation – drawing, writing, knitting etc or are free to work in the garden.

Retreats are limited to eight attendees and run from 10am-4pm.

Our day retreats are run in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of Newton Croft in Caithness.
